With smile that concealed the pain within
She did come to drop me to the station
The expression on her face presented a gamut
Of what she felt and what she wanted to show.
The pain of parting can never be ignored
But she held firm , for it was unfair to leave me sad.
Memories wheeled in the backdrop
As the clock ran faster than ever
We couldn`t blame it though,
It has got into a habit of ruling mankind.
As her dupatta ventured with the wind
I trembled with fear,
prayed, let no human substitute the wind
Eyes were loyal and they promised to be
Though they ran moist, they radiated love.
I held those hands firm, wiped those tears.
The fragility with which she surrendered
so easily forced an involuntary hug.
Her warm breath,
accentuated the feeling of serene love
that we had nurtured for ages.
Time spoke again, louder than capacity
For it was roaring on verge of victory.
A kiss was all it allowed.
She handed me my bag , I walked away…….
